ABOUT ME
I am the eldest daughter born to immigrant parents and the first person in my family to go to college.

I am oshogatsu, birthday parties, and cooking dinner for my family on Thanksgiving.

I am education is important but so is being a caring, compassionate person.

I am “respect your elders” and “you’ll have to work harder at everything because you’re not white.”

I am yoga, reading novels, and watching the Lakers play.

I am musubi, gyoza, and nimono.

I am Oaxaca, Milos, and Culebra.

I am swimming with whale sharks, riding a motorcycle down the cobblestone streets of Plaka,
and seeing my niece for the first time hours after she was born.

I am doing my best to help my students see that that they have the ability to accomplish their academic and life goals.
